Upon arrival at Johannesburg International airport you will be transferred to Sun City . During your stay here you will play at the Gary Player Country Club and another Gary Player designed course, namely the Lost City . The Gary Player Country Club situated at Sun City is home to the prestigious Nedbank Golf Challenge. Sun City 's Country Club offers comprehensive facilities for golfer and non-golfer alike. The Lost City Golf Course is an 18-hole desert-style golf course with spectacular views across the bushveld. Unique to this 72 par course are the 38 real crocodiles at the 13th hole making this one of the most unusual golf resorts in the world, let alone in Africa. The golf course covers more than 100 hectares and incorporates 28 000 square meters of water features. Not surprisingly Golf Carts are compulsory.
Why come to Africa and not get to see the big 5. Pilanesberg is well stocked with game (elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo), as well as cheetah, hippo, giraffe, a large variety of antelope and over 350 species of birds. The park offers organized game drives in the early morning, late afternoon and at night. Guided walks set out at 6 am from the camp of your choice. Day 4 – 6 Malelane Sun Resort (Leopard Creek Golf Club)
Day 4
You will be up fairly early this morning. We will begin our journey to Malelane +/- 4hrs. Malelane Resort is ideally situated at the gateway of Kruger National Park , this superb resort offers a unique opportunity to experience golf at the number 1 rated course in Southern Africa combined with first class luxury.
Leopard Creek has overtaken perennial No 1, The Gary Player Country Club, for top spot on this years 100 greatest. One of the more exclusive golf courses in a country where most are open to the public, Leopard Creek has been steadily closing the gap on the No.1 position. The course has enjoyed tremendous TV exposure with first the Sunshine Tour Championship being played there, and in December the Dunhill Championship, which also brought this magnificent layout to the attention of viewers around the world.
Owned by Johann Rupert, chairman of the SA Tour, who has invested a lot of money, passion and time into his golf course, Leopard Creek is members – only club, similar to Augusta National in that in that members are invited to join. Yet at the same time it is open to visitors and not just wealthy ones.
Day 5
Why come all the way to South Africa and only get to play Leopard Creek once? Today you will have the good fortune of having another round of golf at this magnificent course followed by the rest of the day at leisure. Malelane Resort offers warm and genuine hospitality , magnificent game viewing and the lodge is dedicated to ensuring that guests experience a unique and memorable stay.
Day 6 - 10: Mpumalanga / Kruger Park
Day 6
We will leave Malelane for Sabi taking a route through the southern end of Kruger Park where we will get to view game. This Journey will take up to four hours all within the reserve. Believe us!!! You will not be bored. You will have time for an afternoon round of golf at the exclusive resort namely the Sabi River Sun where you will be staying for the rest of your tour.
Situated along the banks of the Sabi River , the Sabi River Sun is surrounded by magnificent scenery. In close proximity is the world-famous Kruger National Park. The guestrooms offer luxurious accommodation , with private bathrooms, air conditioning and satellite TV.
The resort boasts unrivalled sporting facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, 5 swimming pools , 3 floodlit tennis courts, a bowling green, squash court, volleyball, mountain biking and river rafting (during summer). For the less energetic, there are nature walks , bird watching, sightings of the resident Crocodiles or Hippos, the experience of a game drive, a sight seeing tour, or just relaxing next to the river.
The Hippopotamus Restaurant offers mouth-watering breakfasts and dinners. Light snacks are available on the terrace overlooking the golf course. Day 7
After breakfast you will be back on the Golf Course. One of Sabi's greatest attractions is its magnificent 18-hole Championship golf course , featuring Hippo pools and spectacular fairways. Tonight you will be treated to a night drive into the Kruger Park . The biggest game park in the South Africa will give you the opportunity to see the big 5 at night.
Day 8
Scenic tour. Believe this, Mpumalanga is one of the most beautiful and natural places in the world. I will be taking you to God's Window, Blyde River Canyon , Bourkes Luck Potholes and the historical town of pilgrims rest. Make sure that you have enough film in your camera. Mpumalanga, which means "land of the rising sun" in the local SiSwati language, has it all -- from exhilarating wildlife, to secluded mountain retreats, ancient ruined cities, wild water sports, and some of South Africa's most diverse and vibrant African cultures.
The province's year-round sunny weather, soaring peaks, steamy jungles and expansive waterways have also made it home to a bewildering array of adventure sport, from expeditions down the world's oldest caves, to taking flight at the continent's largest paragliding festival.
With Mist shrouded waterfalls, the incomparable Blyde River Canyon , caves occupied by man for 50 000 years, and a floral kaleidoscope unmatched in the sub-continent are just some of Mpumalanga 's natural wonders. The region offers so many radically different biomes and geological quirks that local tourists return year after year for winter snows in Lydenburg, steamy primeval forests in the Low veld, and the otherworldly vistas of the escarpment.
Day 9
Golf at Sabi and relaxation for the day.
Day 10
We will leave after breakfast for Johannesburg International Airport where you will board you plane home. Holiday Time Golfing Safari's will wish you pleasant memories and a safe journey home.
