7 Day Cape Town / Garden Route tour itinerary

Days 1-3, The Western Cape

Day 1
You will be transferred to one of Cape Town 's top Hotels, namely the Peninsula Hotel. THE PENINSULA , with its matchless style and subtle elegance, is the ultimate in understated Cape hospitality. Ideally situated on Cape Town's Platinum Mile, internationally acclaimed. The Peninsula is home to discerning visitors from around the globe. The reason is simple. Guests enjoy the convenience of being minutes from the excitement and sparkle of Cape Town and close to the world-famous scenic wine routes, beautiful beaches and botanical gardens. More importantly our guests will enjoy superior service.

Day 2
Golf at Arabella. The Arabella golf course has a demanding and exceptional design that offers a challenging experience to all levels of golfers. It puts professional golfers to the test and at the same time is playable for the average hacker. The fairways are wide and spacious. Both fairways and greens are in an exceptionally good condition.
Choosing a signature hole is tough as the 9th, 17th and the 18th all run parallel to the lagoon. As a result, we have chosen the par-three 17th. This hole requires a precise tee shot. If you miss the green to the right, you might find yourself on the beach!

Day 3
Golf at Erinvale, The Erinvale Golf Course in Somerset West was designed by Gary Player and is seen as one of the best courses of the Western Cape province of South Africa . In 1996 it hosted the IGA World Cup of Golf. The course is situated on the former Erinvale Farm at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains . The views are spectacular. One can see beautiful the False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountain range in the east. The mountains protect the course from the wind. The first 9 holes lie in a valley and are despite the many bunkers and water hazards quite easy to play. Holes 10 to 18, however, stretch over mountainous terrain and provide considerable challenges. In parts the fairways ascend steeply.

Days 4 - 7, The Garden Route
Mountains crowd close to a shoreline dotted with beaches and bays, and vividly colored wild flowers delight the eye. Between Heidelberg & Storms River , the Garden route runs parallel to a coastline featuring lakes, mountains, tall indigenous forests, amber colored rivers and golden beaches.

Day 4
You will embark on a scenic drive down the entire Garden Route . This journey is estimated at approximately 7 hours however you may travel at your own pace. You will be staying at the internationally acclaimed Beacon Island Resort in Plettenberg Bay .  Built on a rocky promontory jutting into the warm Indian Ocean , Beacon Island 's setting remains unsurpassed. Most of the tastefully decorated rooms and suites overlook the sea or lagoon, and have every modern comfort. Beacon Island Hotel has an unrivalled panorama. The majestic Outeniqua Mountains form a theatrical backdrop to the Beacon Island Hotel. Here the sea changes from turquoise to purple and the astonishingly beautiful white beaches stretch into infinity.

Day 5
Golf at Sparrebosch (Pezula) Golf Estate, Built on a rocky promontory jutting into the warm Indian Ocean, you've just found one of the most exciting, challenging and visually stunning golf courses in the entire world. This site features 18 spectacular championship holes of golf and 250 hectares of well-planned residential properties and natural fynbos communities. The Scottish "links-style" course, designed by Ronald Fream and David Dale of Golf plan in California, features cool-season grasses and five different tee placements to satisfy, challenge and reward all golfers.

Day 6
We will be leaving in the morning for  South Africa 's # 1 Golf Estate, namely Fancourt Country Club and Estate. Fancourt also happens to be home to the famous Ernie Els. You will enjoy a round of golf on the world class Links course.

The Links at Fancourt, host to the President's Cup in November 2003, presents a unique golfing experience in South Africa . This man-made links course has achieved balance and harmony in terms of length, hazards and shot value. While being a beautiful walking experience the Links is quite possibly the most difficult course in South Africa. Carry more balls than usual and be patient! The Links was never meant to be a low scoring, target golf course.

The signature hole of the Fancourt Links course is the par-four 15th! The hole doglegs left around a dam and your length off the tee will determine how much of the water you want to take on. A good tee shot will leave you about 150m to a green surrounded by water back, left and particularly close to the green on the right. The short par-four 14th (309 meters) also stands out as a classic links course. Negotiate the fairway bunkers and hit a pitch shot to the smallest green on the course framed by towering dunes and thick rough.

Day 7
You will be transferred to Port Elizabeth Airport where you will board a domestic flight to Johannesburg for your international departure flight. We will wish you pleasant memories and a safe journey.
